Harvey Trail
The Harvey Trail in Isle aux Morts, honors the site where the Harvey Family and their Newfoundland dog "Hairyman" saved nearly 200 souls in two separate and daring rescues in the early 1800's. The family saved all 160 lives aboard the ill-fated brig "Dispatch" in 1828 and again 10 years later, they rescued the 25 member crew of the ship "Rankin". The trail includes interpretation panels, a mural at the end of the trail, and a gazebo.
